The COVID-19 pandemic forced many churchgoers to have to do church in new ways. Most of it happened at home, either through live streams or in small groups on Zoom. It put a heightened focus on how important the home is as a place of worship and prayer.

Author Winfield Bevins just released a timely book entitled Living Room Liturgy that he hopes will help us reclaim the home as a place of prayer and worship. "I think in some ways we're in this season of the Lord just really reminding us of the need to rediscover the domestic church," he said.

Bevins is a “liturgical missiologist,” whose passion is to help others connect to the roots of the Christian faith for discipleship and mission. He serves as the Director of Church Planting at Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky, and he's the author of a number of books.

He has a Doctor of Ministry from Southeastern Seminary in Wake Forest and is pursuing a PhD at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland. As you'll hear in this conversation, he's one of the busiest people I've ever interviewed. We had a great conversation, though, about discipline, especially as it relates to creativity and writing.

Side note: The cover of Living Room Liturgy is beautiful. You can buy your copy here: https://my.seedbed.com/product/living-room-liturgy/
