Episode 65: Sustaining a Marriage Through Various Seasons with Matt & Leslee Holliday

After hearing from two younger couples, I'm excited this week to bring on a couple that's been married for 20 years. Matt and Leslee Holliday have both been on my show individually — Matt was on Episode 39 talking about his Major League Baseball career (go Cardinals!) and Leslee was on Episode 55 talking about faithfulness and following her passions — but I was excited to talk to them together about their marriage.

The life of a professional athlete has its perks, and as fans we often only see and think about the glamorous parts of it. But athletes are at risk of being traded at any point, which means they and their families are uprooted with little time to prepare and have to adjust. That happened to Matt in his career a couple times, so it was great to hear them share their story and what their marriage looked like during those seasons.

They're such a fun couple and it's easy to see why they've worked together so well for 20 years. They have three sons — Jackson, Ethan, and Reed — and one daughter, Gracyn. Leslee is back in school working toward a seminary degree.
