Things really spiral out of control quickly in this episode. Despite successfully gaining a "hope die", most of the characters still fell short of finding refuge in the bunker. The end came quickly for some, while others put up more of a fight. But one by one, the horror of "them" was too much to overcome. System: Ten Candles, by Stephen Dewey Chri…

There was certainly a lot to digest in this first session of season 3, as well as a lot of "firsts" for our characters 2/3 of the way through their journey to the Animal Preserve. We comment on a first for the players in a different mode of storytelling. We really enjoyed the mystery and intrigue that this latest non-linear format brought to the ta…

With one candle out, the story continues. In this episode, there are glimpses of "them" in the diminishing light. The character frantically try to make it to the bunker, but there is loss of life and limb as several more candles are put out. System: Ten Candles, by Stephen Dewey Chris -- Senator Brightburn Jeff -- Vance Doolan Jeremy -- Evan Gilmor…

We focus on Archi in this episode, and we've got a flashback battle, along with multiple interpersonal confrontations. But despite how that sounds, it's not all "business and no play". Archi is so serious that the mood somehow magically overflows into moments of comedy. We had a lot of fun in this episode. Enjoy! System: OpenD6 Adventure, from West…

It's time for yet another spooky one-shot on Bone Throwers Theater. We invite a special guest to join this play session. In this episode ,we explore the interesting aspects of character creation, and then drop right in to the horror, already in progress. System: Ten Candles, by Stephen Dewey Chris -- Senator Brightburn Jeff -- Vance Doolan Jeremy -…

Julian's got some pretty jagged puzzle pieces to put together on the journey, and the picture that is being revealed is quite jaded. Or is that just his interpretation? He makes the rounds, hoping to get everyone prepared for the change that is coming. In the final scene, we get a glimpse that there will be trouble as they cross the mountains. But …

We wrap up this one-shot as one by one the characters meet their demise, but some refused to got down with out a fight. We also spent a few moments on a brief commentary on the game. System: Cthulhu Dark by Graham Walmsley CAST: Aaron — Jason Dalton Ellie — Bonn Bolton Jeff — Darius Millson Jeremy — Marsden Phoenix Jordan — The Director Music in th…

Jerr Lan show his concern for each member of the group, healing ails when needed, and stepping up to be a guiding hand through the wilderness. We also learn about some terrifying capabilities of "wild elementals". Jerr proves instrumental in keeping the party safe, and ultimately, through pure compassion, might ensure that the next leg of their jou…

In this episode, one of our characters is captured, while the others are still on the run. But where they are running to seems to be a point of contention. One is seeking adventure, another reinforcements, and another... food. Where exactly they'll end up is still up in the air, but one thing for certain is that they are all scared out of their min…

We start off season 3 with a trek across the frozen tundra of North Bellasaira. For the next few episodes we'll take a close look at each character's perspective on the journey. First up, we have Chime North, eager to take advantage of his perceived freedom. But he still has a lot to learn apparently. System: OpenD6 Adventure, from West End Games C…

More crazy details are revealed, but that doesn't shed too much more light on the nature of this horrific mystery. Who knew that a chat with your friendly neighborhood TV repairman could land you back in the hospital. And it wouldn't be a horror story if one character didn't carelessly return the the original scene... after dark... alone. System: C…

In this commentary episode, we put a bow on this enjoyable second season of the campaign. The characters head into uncharted territory, and so does the podcast; as we talk about planning for a 3rd season in this story. The setting will be quite different, and it sounds like the mode of story telling might take a new form or two as well. We are exci…

When the investigation goes awry, all the usual places one would go to for help don't yield and beneficial results. Neighbors are reluctant to get involved, the hospital is dragging its feet, and the cops aren't taking the report seriously. But who could blame them when the details are told by a fiction writer. System: Cthulhu Dark by Graham Walmsl…

Here is the season 2 finale! In this action-packed episode, the group sets into motion a plan that will really shake up the city. As they escape, they are trading one set of uncertainties for another. What will become of Healing Hands, the Council, and Consiglio; are no longer important questions. They must now address how they will survive the fro…

The story begins as the characters' common associate gathers them together to investigate a mysterious delivery. Jordan confesses that the mystery is based on a actual real life event. Of course, there is more horror to come than what was in the actual news report. System: Cthulhu Dark by Graham Walmsley CAST: Aaron — Jason Dalton Ellie — Bonn Bolt…

A narrow escape and a quick trip back to the hideout... but not for long. Everyone agrees, staying in the city is no longer an option with another council member dead. They hatch a plan that will ensure their escape and most certainly turn the entire city on it's ear. System: OpenD6 Adventure, from West End Games CAST: Jordan — The Game Master Aaro…

Jordan picks up a new one-shot via a Kickstarter for us to play, Cthulhu Dark. This fits our gravitation toward our usual dark and spooky stories. We’ll create our characters, come up with some interesting backstories, and by the end of the episode Jordan says “The victims will should be ready.” System: Cthulhu Dark by Graham Walmsley CAST: Aaron —…

The group squares off with another council member. This time a couple of our characters are in grave danger. This crazy scene is all topsy-turvy, for even our dice rolls, as a character with the best of intentions misses with an epic roll, but the unassuming character with ulterior motives seems to save the day (for now) with a less than stellar ro…

Here's a quick commentary on our play session of Lasers & Feelings. We talk about the mechanics of the games system and what tweaks we would explore to give more room to all aspects of the game. We also make comparisons to other one-shots we have run, such as Fiasco, Inspectres, and Star Wars. All said and done, we enjoyed it, and hope you did as w…

The group tries to get some inside info on the Fire Drakes and The Council, but the clandestine meeting goes sideways and it seems they might have bitten off more than they can chew. One thing is certain, life in Consiglio as they know it is coming to an end. System: OpenD6 Adventure, from West End Games CAST: Jordan — The Game Master Aaron — Sam F…

It's gonna take the superior technical knowledge and the ingenuitive quick wit of the entire crew if they wish to bring the story to a close in this episode. One thing is for sure, their plan could cause lasting cosmic repercussions for the entire planet. But that's a risk you take in letting the dangerous one come up with the plan. System: Lasers …

In this commentary episode, we discuss some of the looming implications of the on the spot roleplaying choices we have made. Not only do those decisions affect the story, but also how we play the game. We also spend some time describing how our style of play may differ from most roleplaying encounters. It's "collaborative storytelling" where everyo…

In this episode, you can really tell that we thoroughly enjoyed this part of the story as the pop-culture references were quite abundant. The crew takes the entire ship into the mysterious hole in the ground and ultimately find a little more than they bargained for. System: Lasers & Feelings - The Doubleclicks Tribute RPG (v1.3), by John Harper CAS…

In a surprising turn of events, an elemental seems to be looking out for the welfare of the group... for now at least. With the information they have gathered Sam has a plan to try and infiltrate The Council. System: OpenD6 Adventure, from West End Games CAST: Jordan — The Game Master Aaron — Sam Feluge Ellie — Archi Jeff — Jerr Lan Jeremy — Julian…

The "Away Team" finds that the planet is much different than when they were there previously; particularly in it's population. Felix and the doctor work frantically on the ship's "goo crisis", and try to restore everything to working order for the crew's newly formed dangerous plan. System: Lasers & Feelings - The Doubleclicks Tribute RPG (v1.3), b…

A lot is revealed in this episode, about bout elementals and androids. It appears that some character's theories are correct. But even with all this info coming out, there is still quite a bit of confusion and dissension, especially when secret is revealed that puts everyone's lives in danger. System: OpenD6 Adventure, from West End Games CAST: Jor…

For this one-shot series, we enlist an All-star cast (just because we all have J names) for a fun, one-page RPG; Lasers & Feelings. Character creation goes pretty quickly in this game, then we get right into the story, full of mystery and adventure on an alien planet. System: Lasers & Feelings - The Doubleclicks Tribute RPG (v1.3), by John Harper C…

Here is another commentary episode where we take a look at some of the methods we use for this form of collaborative storytelling, and come to the realization that both GM and players come to the table with "plans" that often get altered before they come to fruition. But still each character (and even a couple NPCs) have their distinct arc that is …

In the final scenes, the heroes are inspired to come together by the most unlikely of characters. And then in the aftermath, most characters surprisingly get a good outcome. But in Fiasco, a good outcome often means just going back to the devil you know. Game System: Fiasco Cast: Carlin - Blain / Ro Sham Bro Jeff - Dr. Thaddeus Bartholomew Reece Je…

There's action right from the onset of this episode, and the group flees from one "safe-house" to another. While Sam gets some key info that will blow away some of the fog, a couple new wrinkles are added however. It seems the android components of the group will be adding more complications and glitches than first thought. System: OpenD6 Adventure…

A legitimate super villain threat emerges and captures one of our heroes, so this group better start getting their act together. Family bonds and jobs are restored, but cooperation, that may be asking a little too much. Game System: Fiasco Cast: Carlin - Blain / Ro Sham Bro Jeff - Dr. Thaddeus Bartholomew Reece Jeremy - Dillon Davis / Dark Star Joh…

The group tries to untangle the "rat's nest" of clues and info that the Black House has revealed; androids, the Council, the root virus, and other unexplained elemental phenomenon, all while Julian is still suffering from the side effects of... well... they don't know what. But has their indecision cause them to linger too long in one spot? System:…

This episode is all about advancing our superpowers. A character seeks to learn to control their ability rather that be controlled by it, and others seek to add to their powers for their own benefits. But not everyone is successful, and there are some hilarious consequences. Game System: Fiasco Cast: Carlin - Blain / Ro Sham Bro Jeff - Dr. Thaddeus…

In this episode we pick back up with the decision of killing one of their own still looming. With a lot of elemental "bad juju" going on, there is quite a bit of discord, so conflict ensues, however with little effect... at least to the naked eye. There is still a lot of plot and story brewing beneath the surface, and yet another twist to close out…

The action in this episode is "out of this world"! No, really, we're talking meteors and alternate dimensions here. And when secrets are revealed, it is a living hell for 3 of the characters. Yes, literally, they ARE in Hell. Game System: Fiasco Cast: Carlin - Blain / Ro Sham Bro Jeff - Dr. Thaddeus Bartholomew Reece Jeremy - Dillon Davis / Dark St…

Last commentary episode we speculated that a new twist was right around the corner, and oh boy, were we right. In this episode, we spend some time theorizing what this "root virus" is all about. We also discuss the reason why such an inter-personal conflict episode was inevitable at this point in the story. A lot may have been vented by the charact…

Our "heroes" attempt to thwart a bank robbery and right some other wrongs that have gone on so far. But I guess they can't all be heroes. Here are the tilt results Sex: True Love Is Not Nice, and Deception: A Secret Goes Public. Game System: Fiasco Cast: Carlin - Blain / Ro Sham Bro Jeff - Dr. Thaddeus Bartholomew Reece Jeremy - Dillon Davis / Dark…

We take it back the the roots of the Bone Throwers Theater play style with some intense player versus player conflict. It gets kinda crazy as both characters and players exhibit multiple personalities within the same scene. And of course, Jordan throws in the creepiness factor oh so well... but he is not the only one. System: OpenD6 Adventure, from…

Dark Star turns superhero detective and figures out a couple other secret identities. But his senses aren't too keen as he forges the alliance that is beneficial to him, but not his "partner". And then there are the frat boys... Let's just say, what happens at the frat house, never stays at the frat house, which is quite unfortunate for one of our …

Wanton mayhem, violence, and destruction, that's what was jam-packed in this episode, and it came from the most unlikely of characters. It seems the group adds yet another ticking time bomb of fury to it's collection. And even though that is par for the course, not every character is willing to accept it without a fight, so to speak. System: OpenD6…

Some characters desperately try to hide their secrets in this episode; but to no avail. Science has caught up with Kennedy and has pinned her as The Blue Scorpion. And Phase's identity as Franklin is used against him by another one of our heroes. But certainly this will not come back to haunt him later! Game System: Fiasco Cast: Carlin - Blain / Ro…

The Black House Raid quickly becomes the Black House Escape in this episode. Trapped on two separate floors, the characters battle whatever Jordan can throw at them. We get a sense that as players we are fearing for their lives, because despite some really hot dice rolls, character points and fate points were flying off the shelves very early on th…

Things get a little crazy in this episode of Fiasco. Characters display their powers for the first time with some fatal repercussions... or at least with some over the top stereotypical fraternity hijinks. This story is taking on the flavor of a college movie where no jokes are off limits. Game System: Fiasco Cast: Carlin - Blain / Ro Sham Bro Jeff…

Although the last few episodes have answered a lot of questions, Jordan has stayed true to form and has still left a lot of mystery in the air. We seem to be asking more questions than we started out with, including how long is this Bear character actually going to stick around. Jordan reveals how he makes some of his plot choices, and gives some i…

We introduce our character names, alter egos, and superpowers. In our first few scenes we get a couple origin stories and some player versus player conflicts already... in true fiasco fashion. Jeff chooses a black die and the table frames a ridiculous scene. Johnny gets a black die for his scene involving multiple dimensions, and Jeremy gets a whit…

Working their way though the Black House, characters pick up new pieces to the puzzle, face down some unexpected proxies, and rescue the new characters. Sounds productive right? However, there are a few things that will leave you breathless in this explosive and earth shattering episode. System: OpenD6 Adventure, from West End Games CAST: Jordan — …

We're polishing off the character creation phase in this episode, to include some interesting (or disturbing) origin stories, and taking all the loose ends and weaving them together to create a complicated conundrum of how all our characters are more closely connected than anyone realized. Ok, maybe we're just pulling on a thread that will totally …

The two side of the story converge as everyone is focused on the "Black House". The main group works to covertly infiltrate the base, and Archi and Bear are interrogated, seemingly by The Council itself. What are our characters really up against? It appears we have yet to find that out for sure. System: OpenD6 Adventure, from West End Games CAST: J…

In this episode, we continue the hilarious hijinks of assigning Needs, Objects, and Locations to our characters. We also start to postulate how the combinations of these assignments and relationships could create some quite interesting scenes. Our characters start to take shape, but there is still more details to come in the next episode. Game Syst…

Here's the BIG NEWS!!! We are adding a cast member to Bone Throwers Theater! Everyone welcome Ellie! She has been an outstanding player so far and we can't wait to put out what she has contributed to the story. For her first episode, we see the impact of our previous "side-shots" as we bering back our beloved street kids. We knew there was somethin…
