This weekly podcast provides an informal and informative look at church history. Join us each week as we take a brief break from the present to go exploring the past. Travel back in time as we look at the people, events, and even the places that have shaped the story of Christianity. Each episode offers an easily digestible glimpse of how the eternal, unchangeable God has worked in the church over prior generations and how this can encourage us today. This is our story—our family history.

Our current culture seems more interested in the last two minutes than the last two thousand years. This is unfortunate. It’s also avoidable. Join Mike Woodruff each week as he break down some of the most significant people, events, and ideas in church history. Gain insight. Avoid mistakes. Take ground. Mike Woodruff is a pastor at Christ Church, a multisite ministry with four campuses in the north suburbs of Chicago.Learn more about Christ Church at https://www.christchurchil.org

Listen as they discuss how the Church developed and how it affected the world in the process (and how it was affected by the world in return). Make connections on how history repeats itself -- how we can learn from that, and how we tend to make the same mistakes people made in the past. This series was originally presented with PowerPoint slide shows. Unfortunately ...

My name is Steve Weaver. I am a church historian with a PhD in Church History. We'll talk about how we met, how our lives and academic careers have intersected, and discuss history. Hopefully, others will find it interesting, but, regardless, I will enjoy it!

One pastor's attempt at late-night-level honesty about the Bible, church history, theological scholarship, spiritual practice and...God. (AKA how one nearly-de-churched thinker discovered that love is the name of the game.)

The church and religion has played and continues to play a big role in the African-American community. Yet, many of us who grew up in the traditional black church do not have an understanding of how our faith evolved under the duress of slavery and discrimination to be and to represent what it does today.
