What can Cincinnati do for an encore after becoming the first team from outside the Power Five to reach the College Football Playoff last season? What are the expectations for Notre Dame in Marcus Freeman’s first season as head coach?

The Group of Five and Notre Dame are in the spotlight as the season previews roll on. Pete Sampson, who covers Notre Dame for The Athletic, joins AP’s Ralph Russo to discuss Year 1 post-Brian Kelly for the Fighting Irish.

Chris Vannini, also from The Athletic, then joins the show to preview all five conferences, from the AAC to the Sun Belt, that make up the so-called Group of Five. In the Mountain West, Boise State is trying to bounce back from an uncharacteristically lackluster season and San Diego State is trying takeover as the conference’s most consistent contender. The Sun Belt is breaking in a bunch of new members and Conference USA is likely to be dominated by outgoing schools.
