In verse 18, we see Jesus calling the first of his disciples—the brothers Peter and Andrew, and James and John the sons of Zebedee. All four were unlearned fishermen. But after three years with Jesus, they became the wisest of all men. Skeptics today are fond of pointing out that these fishermen could hardly have written the gospels or the epistles.
