Amy was born with a fatal lung condition called cystic fibrosis. She knew her ability to trade time for money likely wouldn't be around for her adulthood. So finding a way to not be a burden on her family and be self sufficient was her big burning why. She is now 40 and in amazing health thanks to a miracle drug, but she still dosn't want to trade her time for money.
