EWM INSIGHTS with Special Guest Scott Tupper, Onda Origins Founder and CEO.

Scott Tupper is a two time Seattle founder in the coffee space.

Born in Washington State and raised in Georgia, Scott came back to the Puget Sound in 2013 with the hopes of working with his brother Paul in the startup space.

In 2016 the brothers took the leap - leaning on their respective international development and ecoforestry backgrounds to imagine a brand new business model for coffee.

Onda Origins, their specialty roasting brand, takes a for-profit approach to decolonizing the archaic business of coffee.

They accomplish this by provide groundbreaking vertical integration for coffee farmers to their end market- this means every cup and every bag of coffee that they sell provides a bonus payment directly to the farmers behind the product.

While sharing revenue with farmers is something most coffee companies would see as an unnecessary expense- the Tupper brothers see it as a long-term rooted approach to better business for all stakeholders, including Onda Origins.

Farmers who get paid better invest in their lands and communities and unsurprisingly produce better coffee as a direct output of their relationship with Onda.

Onda gets world class coffees and gets to co-market these beans and their impact with the actual farmers.

Onda customers get access to reliably excellent coffee and get to know their purchase isn't rooted in greenwashing, but real impact.

Scott proudly refers to the triple bottom line of Onda Origin's approach as "ingredients for a better coffee," and he's here today to share with us about his journey!
