Alice’s career as a nurse was inspired by the death of her father from a heart attack when she was a child. Since then she’s been on a mission to educate and empower the public about the pursuit of health and wellness. Alice was the first nurse to chair the American Heart Association Health Equity Taskforce, as well as the first black nurse to serve on the California board of directors for the American Nurses Association. Today she and Dan talk about her career, the portrayal of nurses in the media and patient safety.
