Never Ride Alone Albuquerque Man Finishes Bike Ride Across America (Albuquerque, NM, August 20th, 2022) On June 4th, Richard Lima set out to ride his bike across the country for mental health awareness and suicide prevention. Starting in Mooresville, NC, and finishing in Santa Monica, CA, Richard rode for 74 days, covered 4,608 miles, crossed 12 different states, and connected with 10 different non-profits, all with one message: keep pedaling. After the loss of a loved one early this year to suicide, Richard felt the calling to help others and reached out to NAMI Albuquerque. Following a short call, a partnership was formed, ‘Never Ride Alone’ was established, and lives were saved. Completing this first ride at the Santa Monica Pier on August 16th, Richard is now back home in Albuquerque, NM, and he is ready to wrap up this first ride and begin planning the next one. Before he takes off again, we are bringing it back to where it all began, the 505! Join Richard Lima and NAMI Albuquerque this Saturday for a group ride and community outreach event to celebrate Richard’s journey, but more importantly, to celebrate the lives that were touched through this cause!
