Narada Bhakti Sutra - Narada's Aphorisms on Love and Devotion

In this discourse Our Spiritual Master KrsnaKnows expounds the Bhakti Yoga Sutras (Path of Love & Devotion) of Devrishi Naradmuni. Narada Bhakti Sutra Chapter 06 – Narada’s Aphorisms on Love Divine – Obstacles to Practice Devotion from Sutra 61 to 63.

Sutra 61: No worry or anxiety should be entertained at the worldly losses, as it is the nature of a true devotee to constantly surrender his limited-self and all its secular and sacred activities to the Lord of his heart.

Sutra 62: Till such a consummate Love is not gained – or on attaining the consummate Love – worldly activities are not to be abandoned. But certainly we must diligently pursue Love and learn to renounce our anxiety to enjoy the fruit of our activities.

Sutra 63: (Seekers should not) listen to descriptions of women, wealth, atheists and enemies.

Info: The Narada Bhakti Sutra (IAST: Nārada Bhakti Sūtra) is a well-known sutra venerated within the traditions of Hinduism, reportedly spoken by the famous sage, Narada. The text details the process of devotion (Bhakti), or Bhakti yoga and is thus of particular importance to many of the Bhakti movements within Hinduism. It has received particular attention among the Vaishnava traditions.

Within the text Narada explains the perfectional stage of pure devotion; the process to achieve this state; gives quotations from other Vedic personalities on the subject matter; things to avoid when developing bhakti, and finally explains the nature of selfless love and the different forms of attachment to the supreme person.
