Series: Habakkuk - Hold on to Faith

Dealing with Injustice

Habakkuk 1:12-2:20

Recap:

Habakkuk was a Minor Prophet who served God around 600 BC.

The name Habakkuk means “to wrestle and to embrace.”

His task was to deliver a hard message from God, and he was struggling to hold onto his faith in the face of hardship.

Habakkuk’s Objections

· God is using wicked people to punish His people.

· Wicked people seem to escape the consequences of their actions.

· God is not doing anything to stop injustice.

When you find yourself struggling with injustice, put yourself in position to hear from God.

The Lord’s Response

Keep God’s Word in front of you.

Wait for God to make things right.

Know that the wicked will be held accountable.

Injustice threatens a person’s view of God’s character and capability.

Injustice is caused by an inflated view of one’s own character and capability.

Today’s Takeaways

1. God runs the universe on His timetable, not ours.

2. God will accomplish His good purposes.

3. No one avoids the justice of God.

4. God desires our trust.
