Brian was diagnosed with colon cancer the end of February 2024. Following many tests and appointments with oncologist, GI, and surgeon, Brian had surgery in May. They were able to remove the cancer without long term complications (as Brian celebrated - "NO BAG!!"). He has to continue having scopes and scans every few months for the next few years to ensure he remains cancer free, but the prognosis is very good, and we are so thankful he ended up with the best possible scenario, at least for colon cancer, anyway. This episode is an interview with Brian's surgeon to talk about colorectal cancer and prevention - Idaho is 3rd from the bottom (no pun intended) when it comes to people completing colonoscopy screenings as recommended. This interview is intended to bring some awareness and take some of the stigma away from the process of helping ensure you are cancer free, or at worst hopefully end up catching cancer at the earliest possible stage.
