Words matter. Malicious rhetoric is harmful. Language reveals beliefs as much as it reinforces those beliefs. What are you hearing that makes you uncomfortable or poses risk for yourself or others? What are you doing about it? The current political climate has created an environment of permissiveness for racist, sexist, and bigoted rhetoric, and those expressed attitudes are a short step away from violence and other harmful actions. Being passive is being part of the problem. So, what do we do about it? In this show we discuss the importance of speaking up and how to do so effectively.
