447: Were the Seahawks Too Aggressive in Trying to Put Away the Falcons?
Manage episode 446663387 series 106311
Some big news to talk about this week to kick off the show as the Seahawks make an in-season trade for a linebacker from the Tennessee Titans. But it wasn't that long ago that Ernest Jones was playing for the division rival Los Angeles Rams. Now that two teams have moved on from Jones, is that an indictment on his play? Or were the Rams just averse to paying their former defensive captain because that is a position they historically don't give out big contracts to?
We also dive into the Seattle Seahawks' dominant performance against the Atlanta Falcons, highlighting Kenneth Walker's "flu game" and the first-half dimes from Geno Smith. As the Seahawks worked to pull ahead in the second half, was the team too aggressive in trying to deliver a killshot to the Falcons? We explore some of the 3rd quarter strategy the seemed to throw the offense into neutral.
With DK Metcalf potentially sidelined due to injury against the Bills, we talk about how Seattle's offense might adapt, with increased roles for players like Jake Bobo and Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Will we start to see the team lean on their second best player more or will we try and see others deeper on the depth chart getting involved if DK needs a couple weeks of rest.
In the second half of the show we talk about some of the dominance along the defensive line from Byron Murphy. Is he having the type of impact on the defensive line that is allowing the team to remain undefeated with him in the lineup? We go from scolding a perfect week of picks from one team last week to celebrating a perfect this week. Congratulations to Danish Meadhawks on a perfect week of picks. Tune in to hear why a group of scientists need to do better for growing old seeds along with an account on X that may be giving out too much information on one of our Seahawks. A legend of Seahawks media passed away this week and so we close the show honoring what he did for the team and for fans.
NOTE: Nothing to censor in this week's show, so there won't be an UNCATFISHED version to release this week.
