When I was fresh out of college, I use to bemoan the fact that the churches I went to seemed to lack any sort of substantial programming for that awkward age range of early 20s to mid-30s. Growing up in the church, there's always plenty for youth and even in college there are plenty of campus ministries to be a part of and meet people to do life with.

But for a lot of places, once you're out of college, you're sort of thrown into the grouping with married adults who have kids. For single people in their 20s and 30s, it can often feel hard to get plugged in at church and meet people in a similar phase of life. Josiah Kennealy recognized that need in his city of Minneapolis and, along with his wife Micah, founded Minnesota Young Adults — a collaborative movement of college ministries & young adult ministries from around the Twin Cities of Minnesota.

He and his wife also host the Young Adults Today podcast. In this conversation we talked about how they found the heart for that project, some of the major issues facing young adult Christians, what he's encouraged by when he sees young adults leading in the church, and we also talked about hurry, hustle, and comparison — all things young adults grapple with.

Even if you're not in the young adult age bracket, this is still an enlightening conversation. You'll love Josiah's Minnesotan accent. Links Give Josiah a follow on Twitter (@JosiahKennealy) and Instagram (@josiahkennealy) Check out the Young Adults Today podcast: https://www.youngadults.today/
