In the first podcast of the New Year, Tyler and Simon take a close look at the 2017 MLS schedule for Vancouver Whitecaps FC and the league, plus debate the rumour of Whitecaps FC 2 potentially moving away from Vancouver after the upcoming USL campaign. This January 12th edition of Soccer Talk is presented by Metrotown Orthopedic & Sports Physiotherapy and KazLaw, as the guys broadcast from the Barber and Co. studios.

On this episode, Tyler and Simon discuss if Whitecaps fans should be concerned with the Blue and White’s lack of player acquisition activity to date and debate if the proposed Canadian Premier League will ever become a reality.

The guys also chat about FIFA’s plans to expand the World Cup to a 48-team competition, starting in 2026, and how that might benefit Canada’s hopes of reappearing at soccer’s showpiece event.

Simon has his three things to watch out for, while ‘Simon Says’ pays tribute to former England manager Graham Taylor, who sadly passed away this week.

All that and more on the January 12th version of Soccer Talk!
