Der Friedrichstadtpalast war der große Leuchtturm der DDR-Kulturpolitik. Ein Haus der leichten Muse, gigantisch groß, technisch avanciert, mit riesigem Ensemble, einen guten Steinwurf vom Grenzübergang Friedrichstraße entfernt. Rodica Doehnert entwickelte für diesen schillernden Schauplatz eine Ost-West-Geschichte um zwei getrennte Zwillingsschwestern auf beiden Seiten der Mauer, deren Familie von der deutschen Teilung zerrissen wurde.
