Nach dem Drehbuch von Marc-Uwe Kling und Jan Cronauer spielt das wie immer überragend guten Känguru die Hauptrolle in dem zweiten Teil der Fortsetzung zu Die Känguru-Chroniken (2020) und ist wie der Vorgängerfilm keine direkte Adaption der Buchreihe Die Känguru-Chroniken. Diesmal gehen Marc-Uwe und das Känguru eine Wette ein: Sie werden ihre Wohnung verlieren, wenn sie es nicht schaffen, die Mutter seines neuen Dates zu retten. Die ist im Internet falsch abgebogen und leugnet nun die Klimakrise.
