Dolphins Playing a Dangerous Game with Deshaun Watson & the Lakers Plan to Let Russ Cook

On today's episode, Jason kicks things off with a deep dive into the latest scuttlebutt surrounding Deshaun Watson. According to the Houston Chronicle, the Miami Dolphins have a deal in place to acquire Watson... assuming he agrees to settle all of his lawsuits and the NFL lets them know exactly how long he'll be suspended for embarrassing the shield. The whole thing is messy. On one hand, Watson is one of the best quarterbacks in all of football so he's well-worth whatever it takes to get him. On the other, with so much uncertainty surrounding his ability to actually get on the field with all of these allegations hanging over his head, the Dolphins would be crazy to make a trade right now. Even if the Dolphins and Texans have an agreement in principle, it's really hard to imagine a deal being consummated prior to the trade deadline next week. Finally, Jason closes the show with a verbal round of applause for Frank Vogel and the Los Angeles Lakers for getting a road win without LeBron James. Anthony Davis was fantastic but he did get banged up late. With the Lakers playing a back-to-back on Wednesday night, perhaps the best plan of attack is to rest AD and LeBron and let Russell Westbrook carry the load while the big guns are on the mend. Westbrook has a ton of flaws as a player, but one thing he can do is pick up regular season wins against the also-rans of the NBA. Perhaps it's time for the Lakers to 'Let Russ Cook'.
