Damaskus 1480: Der Notar Ibn Tawq fängt an, eine Art Tagebuch zu schreiben. Zwanzig Jahre lang zeichnet er jeden Tag die Ereignisse in seiner Stadt auf und lässt uns so an etwas Seltenem in Quellen dieser Zeit teilhaben – dem Alltag. Wie sieht sein Leben und Arbeiten aus, wie sein Damaskus?
Einblicke in Ibn Tawqs Tagebuch gibt uns Dr. Torsten Wollina, der dazu promoviert hat und nun im DFG-Projekt Orient-Digital arbeitet, dem Verbundkatalog und Portal für orientalische Handschriften mit eigenem Blog und auf Twitter.
