Was sollte ein Herrscher wissen? Vor seinem Machtantritt im Jemen des 13. Jh. sammelt al-Aschraf Umar (gest. 1296) seine Antworten in einer Art Handbuch. Diese Tabsira enthält vor allem astrologisches Wissen und setzt damit eine Jahrhunderte alte Tradition fort. Welche Rolle Astrologie im Alltag und am Hof spielte und was die Tabsira besonders macht, erzählt uns Dr. Petra Schmidl von der Universität Erlangen.
