Today’s podcast episode is a break from the norm and one we were very excited about. We had the pleasure of chatting with Mikael Thiery, the director of the Dublin Web Festival. Mikael is a French Filmmaker and Producer based in Dublin. His short film “Joe Drummer” was selected for the Chicago Irish Film Festival in 2011 and for the 2011 Dingle Film Festival.

Since then Mikael moved towards the web series format. He has directed the first episodes of a comedy web series titled ”Ash Airways” which were selected for the LA Web Fest. So he is certainly a man who knows quite a bit about creating compelling visual content.

The Dublin Web Festival, isIreland’s first and only web festival. From November 18th-20th, Dub Web fest will take place in Templebar’s Filmbase, the perfect venue to unite the movers and makers of the digital media and technology worlds, promoting web series and digital content creation around the world.

The Web Fest are still taking submission and if you are thinking about putting your hat in the ring, then you can head over to their site and take a look at what is required. The final date for submissions is the 15th September 2016. At the three day long festival apart from plenty of awards, there will also be a number of workshops taking place from, how to write a great EPK (Electronic Press Kit), to a screenwriting workshop, so there will be plenty to see and learn.

To find out more, or to book your tickets you can check out the Dublin Web Festival in all these places.
