Welcome to another Chicken Chat! This week we're excited to chat with veterinarian Julie Gauthier. Julie grew up in Michigan, where she studied at Michigan State University to become a veterinarian. While working in mixed animal practice in Florida and in Connecticut, she studied anthropology at the University of West Florida, and earned a Master’s degree in public health at Yale University. Until 2017, Julie owned and managed Chickcharney Farm, a rare breed demonstration farm in the North Carolina piedmont. Over the years, Julie has raised, processed, and marketed heritage breed poultry, sheep, and goats. Julie is also the author of the flock keeper’s self-help book "Chicken Health for Dummies." Find more from The Livestock Conservancy on their Website, Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube.
