Today on the LLVLC Show, we have the first of a two-part conversation about MASKGATE at the Hub City Farmer’s Market.

“Our decision had everything to do with the reaction to the mask policy and what happened the two weeks after the attempt to enforce that policy.”

Jordan Wolfe

In today’s show, Jimmy shares Part 1 of a special 2-part LLVLC Show investigative report looking into a story about an incident that recently happened at his local farmer’s market in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Just over a month ago, one of the longtime animal foods vendors at the Hub City Farmers Market named Travis Childers from Old Paths Farm was banned from being at the market because he refused to wear a mask. Something didn’t seem right about this story, so Jimmy dug deeper to see what really happened.

Jimmy interviewed the Executive Director of the Hub City Farmers Market named Jordan Wolfe to detail exactly what happened from her perspective, the challenges that the pandemic presented her market, why the mask policy was incredibly difficult to enforce, whether they required their vendors to show proof of getting the hokey pokey, the role of the interpersonal conflict between the market manager and the farmer, why they didn’t invite the farmer back even after removing the mask policy, and the complicity in the mistakes that were made in handling this incident.

Today you’ll get the farmers market side of the story and in Part 2 on Wednesday we will hear from the farmer Travis Childers to hear what happened on his end of things.DON’T MISS IT!
