On Gratitude and Searching for Belonging

This time of year is my annual reset. I like to review the year and discover everything I am grateful for, how it all connects to my values, and decide where I'd like to go in the coming year.
Each year I choose a theme of the concept I am learning to embody more of in my life. Two years ago I chose to learn how to become a great receiver and understand more about allowing vs. forcing or manipulating events, and last year I chose belonging and to find where I serve the best in my life and community.
This coming year I suspect I will be exploring what it means to be content in my belonging, content in what I have and do, and content that I am enough. There is a sense of wanting to deepen my relationship with the present moment and stop continually ruminating on the past or slogging forward without appreciating the gorgeousness of now.
These kinds of New Year goals feel quite rich and full of possibility and guide me in how I make choices, how I reflect on events, and contribute to a sense of peace for me.
