I’ve been connected with Christina Dunbar on social media for over a decade and have admired her work and voice for just as long. Today we’re digging into the importance of drawing up repressed stories women hold in their bodies.
*Our connection wasn't as clear technically as I like but the substance is worth a little static in places.
Christina Dunbar is a storyteller, writer, director, and facilitator. She is the creator of She Takes The Stage, a program that's produced over 40 stories and numerous solo shows for women. Christina currently works with speakers, storytellers, and leaders and uses performance tools to help clients captivate from the stage. As an artist, Christina is prepping to tour her one-woman show, Dirty Me Divine, which has been shared with sold-out audiences in LA, Boston, and San Francisco. This Goddess Shines!

Points covered in this episode
Why women are often taught to be chosen and end up waiting lifetimes for a lie.
Why our voice will lead us to our calling, our knowing, our healing.

The significance of this quote:
"What would happen if one woman told the truth about her life?

The world would split open.”― Muriel Rukeyser

If you weren’t supported in exploring your expression or using your voice as a child, it might feel so tender to do that now. Especially if you’re sharing something personal: your art, your stories, your sacred mission, your feelings. All of this can take us back in time to that little girl and bring up *her* ways of protecting the heart...

Mother Tongue. The voice of our female soul, the voice that is hungry, to tell the truth about...

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

... how you feel

... what you want

... what hurts

... what you stand for.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

It is fierce.

It is body-based.

It is clear.

It is loving.
