In this episode, Shelley Jones, a patent attorney in the Health Sciences Department of Pepper Hamilton has a discussion with Claudia Stewart, Vice President for Technology Commercialization at Georgetown University. They discussed how Georgetown is pivoting some of their research to COVID-19 research projects and how the office of technology commercialization (OTC) supports innovation at the university. The OTC at Georgetown University was an early adopter of socially responsible licensing and Claudia describes how they are implementing socially-responsible licensing in response to COVID-19.
