Good morning, weather watchers! This is your meteorologist coming to you with a chilly forecast for Washington District of Columbia.
Bundle up, folks, because winter is making a bold statement this weekend! Today, we're looking at a mostly sunny day with temperatures climbing to a brisk 34 degrees Fahrenheit. Those west winds are going to be dancing around 15 to 18 miles per hour, with gusts potentially reaching up to 32 miles per hour. So grab that heavy coat and maybe an extra layer!
Tonight, expect a clear sky with temperatures dropping down to a frosty 21 degrees Fahrenheit. Those west winds will calm down a bit, blowing around 8 to 10 miles per hour.
Sunday brings increasing clouds and a slight warm-up to 36 degrees Fahrenheit. But hold onto your hats, because things are about to get interesting Sunday night. We're talking snow - and potentially heavy snow - possibly mixed with some sleet. We could see anywhere from 2 to 4 inches of accumulation.
Monday continues the winter weather party with continued snow and possibly sleet, with temperatures struggling to reach 30 degrees Fahrenheit.
The rest of the week looks cold but mostly sunny, with temperatures hovering in the high twenties to low thirties.
