This week Sid talks to one of the biggest and brightest stars in country music – Lainey Wilson. Back in May, he drove up to Nashville and got to have this conversation in person at Lainey’s farmhouse outside of town. The occasion was a Southern Living cover shoot, and Lainey and Sid sat down on a pair of comfortable chairs in her speakeasy-style basement, which is where she writes a lot of her songs. Lainey couldn’t have been more welcoming as a host, even though she’d been touring nonstop for her latest album, Whirlwind . She’s also hosting the CMA Awards in mid-November, and she’s appearing in the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s novel Reminders of Him early next year. But Lainey has clearly not forgotten her small-town roots in Baskin, Louisiana, or the importance of good friends, family, and her faith. She talked a lot about how she stays grounded, how she keeps holding on despite a wild few years in Nashville, and the importance of keeping her people close. She also told some funny stories about her fiance, Devlin Hodges, who goes by Duck, and how she and her family celebrate Thanksgiving. 1:02:51I took a week off, so please excuse the absence of some of the bangers from mid-October. I promise I'll make it up to you in November. Anyway, here's your monthly VGM mixtape with a pretty big chunk of vocal tracks, actually! Please enjoy. 1:00:05Vren! I don't know about you, but I think I'll remember Silksong's music more than the actual game — I dropped it, because it's so mean to me. Other than that, here's to another incredible month for video game music. Please enjoy this hour of pure bliss. Just know that I'm particularly proud of this one. Hope you'll like it! 1:12:07I got (well) ahead of schedule this month, for the simple and very good reason that I’m taking a few days off this week! This month didn't quite meet my expectations. Suffice to say that April set a pretty high standard in terms of quality and I didn't really expect May to follow through. Anyway, I've obviously managed to put together some MUSIC. Think of this one more as a jukebox rather than a proper mixtape, since I've struggled to make nice transitions between th…

I’m taking some vacations! It’s been a while, and I REALLY need it to be able to make it through the end of the year. Worry not: I’ve managed to put together a nice little mixtape. Here. We. Are. The very first VGM selection of 2024 and, believe me, it's gonna be a blast! What's great about January is that there are very few AAA games coming out, leaving more space for smaller releases to shine. The last few weeks have been a good example of that, with only Tekken 8 and Like a dragon: Infinite Wealth to shake things up a bit.…
