Do You Have to Have an Ego to Be Successful?
In this Episode:
It comes from a thought that I had a couple of years ago; when I was thinking about what it takes for a person to be successful. I was watching my girl Bey (Beyonce), and was so inspired and motivated by her energy and her ability to do what she does. I just started thinking like: what does it take for a person to really step into their zone and destiny? I thought about people who are willing to write that book or put that TV show on like a Shonda Rhimes. There has to be something inside of you; there has to be that confidence to actually make you press go and to do it. While thinking about that I thought about another topic that I'm looking forward to speaking about “Identity crisis as you level up”. When I decided to have this podcast, I was like “there's only one person I could talk to about this”, and that is my girl Tisha cobs, a dear friend, an entrepreneur, a veteran, as well as a health and mindset coach. She's passionate about teaching both professional women and veteran women how to put down their capes and focus on their holistic self-care.

Memorable Quotes:
- “How much do you like yourself? How much do you love yourself? How much do you value yourself? Because whatever that amount is, that is going to be in direct correlation between you, and how positive you are, how you get, things done; and so literally, you want to make sure that all three parts, you know, all three parts are in alignment, you know, some people are stronger in some points than in other parts, but when you really start to get an understanding of true ego, it really has to do with perfectly balancing, or as good as possible, nothing's perfect. All three of those parts.” - Tisha
- “ I love that answer, there's so much I can unpack there. I just want to start with the whole notion first and foremost of asking yourself a question because most people don't think that. “ it sounds kind of crazy, though. Am I talking to myself” but we all talk to ourselves all the time! More importantly, we're the ones we really listen to. - Sherylle
- “when you go around with your head down, and just looking down at your feet all the time, and you're literally saying, what was me, then that is your standard that you have allowed your mind to accept? That's all it is. And at some point, the difference where you change, you know, earlier you were talking about Bay and how, you know, she is just amazing, you know, her stage presences and she's like, “Listen, I'm going to increase my standards. For myself, I'm going to be a better person”, you know, in my opinion, she's the pinnacle of it. I just love her.” - Tisha
- “I think I learned this from my dad, he used to say, you know, emotions, follow your choices, things that have happened to you in the past. Usually, it's your emotion as a response, whether it's a good or a bad one, you know, it's a response to what has happened in the past. And so; that's why I always say the beautiful thing about choices, is that you can actually make new choices.” - Sherylle
