Marisa Thalberg is a well-established pioneering CMO who has over 30 years across a variety of industries. Marisa has worked as a marketing executive for leading brands such as Revlon Inc., The Estee Lauder Companies, Taco Bell and most recently Lowe’s, while also forming and running her own organization called Executive Moms which is a peer support and networking tool for women who are mothers and professionals such as herself.

Throughout her professional life Marisa has not only had to Reinvent her industry expertise, but due to her career pivots, she and her family also had to commit to Reinventing their way of life by moving to several different cities. During our conversation, Marisa shared that she has faced challenges throughout her journey and career but having access to a wonderful network of people keeps her grounded in the moments of adversity.

Some powerful takeaways from today’s episode:

  • Sometimes you’re the one that jumps off the pier, so to speak, and other times you get pushed
  • The singular characteristic that defines all successful people is not socio-economic background or education level, it’s their resilience
  • Don’t think of Reinvention as becoming someone totally different than who you are, it’s about adapting to change and growing by doing new things
  • You are not alone in your journey and experiences - just talk to your peers and others and you'll find you're in good company
  • The secret to leaning into the twists and turns of life is to believe that they have a purpose in your journey
