Phat Phil Cooper has been an island resident since just before the pandemic.
But his heart has been Balearic for much longer than that with regular visits to the island on and off since the 1990, meaning he struck up friendships with some of the great sunset sound trackers of the islands time, like Jose Padilla.
Phil owns the NuNorthern Soul label and his latest musical project that he is looking to create is inspired by the sweeping poem ‘Cofio’ by the great Welsh poet Waldo Williams.
It is one that has forged a closeness between his Ibiza-based
record label and the Welsh DJ, performer and cultural
commentator Gareth Potter, composer and musician Joan Bibiloni,
poet and actor Pep Tosar Vaquer, actor Rhys Ifans and musician James Baron.
Each of the players has a unique contribution within the plans that will be released to mark Balearic day next Spring.
In todays episode Phil shares the full details of his idea, some new musical plans and a documentary, feel free to get in touch with Phil Via His instagram.
