Akasha explains that life, in its entirety, is a ceremony. For Akasha, life itself is a pilgrimage. He talks about his love for movement and being in-between places as a metaphor for exploring different versions of himself. He has completed physical pilgrimages, including a 500-mile trek in Spain, and continues to see his internal journey as one of ongoing self-discovery.
Akasha shares an emotional story about creating a meaningful rite of passage for his son’s 18th birthday. His son, who has cerebral palsy, will embark on a two-mile walk, representing a significant physical and mental challenge. Akasha discusses his experiences with ayahuasca, which he refers to as grandmother medicine, emphasizing its power to facilitate mental, emotional, and spiritual healing. He describes it as a tool for seeing hidden parts of oneself and achieving wholeness.
