In this interview, hosted by Professor Shekhar Tomar, Professor Viral V. Acharya talks about central banking, the NPA crisis, and the performance of the central banks during the pandemic. Viral served as the Deputy Governor at the Reserve Bank of India, in charge of Monetary Policy, Financial Markets, Financial Stability, and Research, between 2017-19. This discussion also presents the broad rationale behind some of the policy decisions during his tenure.
