The Monument to the Great Fire of London, commonly known as The Monument, is a striking column located near the northern end of London Bridge. Designed by Sir Christopher Wren and Dr. Robert Hooke, it was completed in 1677 to commemorate the Great Fire of London of 1666. Standing at 202 feet tall, the height of The Monument corresponds to its distance from the site where the fire started on Pudding Lane.
