There’s analysis on the brilliance of Max Verstappen, who took his ninth victory of the season, leading from lights to flag after passing inherited pole sitter George Russell off the start line.

But the race was clouded by more stewarding controversy as Alex Albon’s fallen wing mirror led to Valtteri Bottas crashing into it, Lewis Hamilton and Carlos Sainz receiving debris punctures, and a race-changing 10-second stop-and-go penalty for Lando Norris for ignoring double-waved yellows.
