In this episode we take a look into the life of Danielle, The wife of Tim Wright. Tim is currently wrongfully convicted and fighting for his life as we speak! Danielle and I have a heart to heart talk about the challenges and experiences that wives who stand by their wrongfully convicted husbands go through. In this episode we discover the strength and resilience of these women and the undying friendship and support they bring to the table.

Danielle's story starts when her and I traded places as the podcast's guest and the mother of a wrongly convicted husband. We have a lot of common ground and became friends through the podcast. This has been the most helpful thing ever and I'm always so glad to have her in my corner. Now Danielle wants to tell her side of that.

The emotional roller coaster of this is just ridiculously overwhelming. From the initial shock and disbelief that this was happening, to the continued daily overwhelming frustration, and heartache. Dealing with this on an emotional level is just amazing. How do you even begin to cope with that? I am amazed to be still standing. Long term, I am not sure how anyone being suppressed constantly on the emotional level can ever be healthy, functioning human beings. I know my first strategy in this was just sheer survival mode.

Danielle experiences trying to work through the legal system for Tim. She tells of what it is like finding and paying a lawyer, as well as trying to get the appeals process to work in your favor. She also gives advice to others who are going through a similar situation. For other wrongfully convicted people or people going through a hard time like this, they may have different circumstances. Danielle has had to deal with debt and trying to earn money to pay for a lawyer. She’s dealt with talking to lawyers and going through the appeals process, but the next person may have an unnecessary amount of debt right now, but they may have the money upfront ready to pay for a lawyer after the trial. The point I am trying to make here is that every person is different and the situations between Personal 1 and Personal 2 are different too.

In this powerful episode you get to hear from Danielle Wright, an amazing wife who has stood by her wrongfully convicted husband. Danielle’s story is amazing because it is so typical of what thousands of wives across this country are going through, and yet so few people realize they are fighting this same fight. Wrongful conviction is a fierce battle, but in order to win the fight you must also have friends, support and most importantly be an advocate. Danielle is an amazing woman who’s resilience and tenacity serve as inspiration to us all.
