Our expectations of people - based on *our* opinions and standards for them - inevitably lead to disappointment. When what is so obvious to us becomes so blind to them, things are unsettling. But we mustn't judge or view people through our own prisms. We have to look at them based on their opinions and expectations of themselves, however rudimentary or basic we think those outlooks are.
