Healing process of the ACL graft vs. BEAR process. The rehab process for the BEAR ACL initial 8 Weeks. Understanding the process of the graft maturation process, nerve fiber regeneration, proprioception and implications for return to activity. WHY 9 MONTH MARK NEEDS TO GO TO BED! Chances of re tear and arthritis post ACL. Can BEAR reduce arthritis in future years? 30-40 BEAR as first option surgery before graft? Building foundation for young athletes. CRITERIA required for passing return to play not just time! LightSpeed lift use for retraining running. Time frame for having surgery to heal ligament being 50 days post injury. ACL tears most likely aren’t all completely torn. 40-50 Post operative nutrition, hydration building movement foundation to progress to strength training. Prioritizing therapy and hitting milestones for expected ability to reach check points for movement. Using sensor technology to objectify movement. Neuromuscular control as a primary focus to help prevent re injury. 50-60 Continuing avenues to help spread knowledge. Understanding MRI findings and imaging results for appropriate clearance. Understanding injury prevention, watching for yellow flags, preparation before games and tournaments. Being mentally ready for return to sport function. 60-70 Training properly for the demands of competition, speaking the language of the sport. ACL “prevention” is just good training. Good training improves performance!
