DJ Disciple Mixed Sessions June 2024 Rest In Peace Chuck Roberts Often called the "voice of house music," the Chicago-born artist was best known for his spoken-word sermon on Rhythm Controll's 1987 single "My House." The track's iconic "In the beginning there was Jack" lyrics have since been sampled by some of the most revered names in house, most notably Fingers Inc. on the era-defining "Can You Feel It." Others examples include Todd Terry, Tuff Jam and Julio Bashmore. In recent years, Roberts collaborated with a handful of popular artists, including Carl Cox, Bushwacka! and WhO.
