THE OLYMPIC GAMES - A FUTURE OR NOT?
Every four years the Olympic Games, the ultimate world sporting event, comes around via the host nation and our global TV screens. The athletes of the world's nations come together to celebrate sport, international fraternity and goodwill. At least that's the ideal - for despite astonishing levels of sporting performance the Olympics are now somewhat tarnished with the controversy of performance-enhancing drugs, politics and astronomical costs. With the Commonwealth Games laced with similar woes and unable to find its next host, can we now ask if the Olympics might be facing the same fate? Is its used-by date fast approaching and are the games still valid? And what of the proposed Enhanced Games scheduled for 2025? In their own inimitable style, Keith and Lee discuss.
As an extra bonus the boys share the following link to the Aussie masters of sports podcasting - the one and only Roy Slaven and H. G. Nelson! Broadcasting from the Paris Olympiad titled, "People, Medals and Cheese." Well, what else would you expect from those two?
