Derry City secured their place in the FAI Cup quarterfinals with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Cork City at Turner's Cross on Friday night.
The match was a tale of two halves, with Cork City dominating possession and creating numerous chances in the first period. However, despite their dominance, the Rebels were unable to find a breakthrough.
Derry City weathered the storm and emerged stronger in the second half. Their persistence paid off in the 72nd minute when Sam Todd headed home a corner from Ciaran Coll to give the Candy Stripes the lead.
