We spend Episode 2 of Foodstuffs considering plants, community & space. Bryan speaks with Jacob Kearey-Moreland, one of the people at the helm of the Wiki Farm in Orillia, Ontario. We learn about the way Jacob is creating an alternative to what makes an "ideal" community gardening location and how he's harnessing the power of the Internet to help him do it. Jessica heads in to the woods with her employer/friend, Geoff Hopgood, a chef and forager with a particular affinity for ramps (a.k.a. wild leeks). We hear about how to find them and also how foraging shaped the course of Chef Hopgood’s career. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ THANKS! Thanks this week to Jacob Kearey-Moreland of the Orillia Wiki Farm. You can see more about the farm here: www.facebook.com/Wikifarm. Thanks also to Chef Geoff Hopgood and an undisclosed suburban forest in Oshawa. Thanks always to Erik Betlem and CIUT for recording facilities. And a big thank-you for Chris Foster (www.chrisfoster.ca) for our Foodstuffs logo. It’s our favourite. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Foodstuffs is a podcast about food and culture, and their intersections. It is the brainchild of Jessica Walker and Bryan Goman. Episodes to be released every second Wednesday. www.foodstuffs.life
