Dj Elaya was born in Athens, Greece. From a very young age he got introduced to a variety of music through his family’s record shop. The fact that he was in a music environment almost since he was born, helped him to be up to date with what was happening in the music industry. Music for him became soon a way of life. When he grew up he started to manage the record shop. It didn’t take him long to realize that music would be his full time employment for the rest of his life. His next thought was to get a pair of decks and a mixer. On the tender age of 13, he had his first proposal to dj as a resident at a club. In 2000, began his first radio show on RADIODEEJAY and was the resident dj to all the parties that radio station was giving. He had also offers to work as radio producer to many radio stations such as Must fm. His enrolment with the media caught the attention of partysan magazine in Greece. He became soon part of the crew that run the magazine, sharing his music knowledge with the readers. Elaya’s dj sets are a pleasure to hear but mostly to dance. His euphoric trance is perfectly mixed with underground vibes. Don’t be surprised if you hear an old, classic dance track over a techno, trance, electro track that you have never heard before. He describes his music as ‘’attacking melodies’’ or ‘’setting feelings’’. Whatever he means with that, one thing is for sure. He will get any dance floor to the move (and on the mood) no matter if he plays the early or the final set. He will always find the way to communicate with the audience. The hours on the decks are countless, as he has played music in the whole city but also in festivals such as ‘’earthquake festival’’ in which his set was broadcasted live by a well-known radio station. Elaya’s first cd compilation mix was released in early 2011, including 12 tracks, not only Elaya’s own tracks but also those of great artists such as Matt Darey , Andrew Bennet , Kristy Thirsk , Kirsty Hawkshaw , Anxiety , Beat on Board , John Dee. From June until October 2010 he made his promotional tour for his production and presented almost in the whole country. He has also appeared abroad, in England, Italy and to his personal ‘’highlighted destination’’ in Netherlands. He is the inspirer and the owner of EGZ radio show (Elaya’s Global Zone) which is included in the program of a successful radio station, on insomnia fm (www.insomniafm.com). Elaya is at the moment back in the studio ‘’Arniotis 111’’ finishing off some old tracks, but also new ones with which he was working up to his personal studio.
