GRANDE LOQ: THE GRANDILOQUENT HIP HOP SHOW
"A Magnificent" Day
(02.03.2021)
(theme music – “San Francisco Knight” by People Under the Stairs)
Yes, those sounds are from People Under the Stairs. As we’ve had to do too much recently, prayers up and RIP to Double K from People Under the Stairs. Welcome back to Grande Loq, the grandiloquent hip hop show. We are three lovers of hip hop, creators of hip hop, music fans, educated cats and we talk hip hop straight to the old heads and people who love great music. Tonight we’re going to talk about Tracklib and the deal that Bob James made with Tracklib. There’s a great conversation between 9 th Wonder and Bob James where they talk about how many of his hits have been sampled by hip hop artists and it’s a great vehicle to talk about samples, how artists can gain new revenue streams over time, and what this means for hip hop producers. Then we’ll review the latest from Queens mc Pharoahe Monch called “A Magnificent Day for an Exorcism.” This one rocks … literally. It’s not going to satisfy every hip hop fan’s taste, but there’s a lot to discuss here. Finally, for our classic album review, I suggested the 1992 classic album “The Chronic” by the inimitable Dr. Dre. We’ll get in our feelings, remember the times, and dig into what makes that album a true hip hop classic. If you make it through to the end of this show and like it, we would be honored if you would subscribe, rate, share, and review it. #hiphop#rap#music#rapper#trap#beats#love#newmusic#hiphopmusic#artist#producer#dance#rnb#dj#rapmusic#art#soundcloud#hiphopculture#explorepage#spotify#freestyle#rappers#youtube#musicproducer#instagood#follow#beatmaker#musician#undergroundhiphop#like#trapmusic#beat#fashion#instagram#explore#party#pop#boombap
