Jake and Rich continue their Mid-major Conference previews, breaking down the CAA, CUSA, Ivy, MVC, SoCon, Southland, Sun Belt, and WAC. Two special guests join the show — Louisiana Tech big man Daniel Batcho and Troy guard Myles Rigsby — both of whom are Player of the Year candidates in their respective conferences.
Last year as a junior for the Bulldogs, Batcho averaged 15.2 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks per game, while shooting 59 percent from the floor. He was named both first-team All-CUSA and CUSA All-Defense. Daniel finished in the top three of the conference for FG% (.590, 1st), REB% (18.6, 1st), BLK% (8.9, 1st), offensive rating (120.1, 2nd), defensive rating (92.1, 2nd), PER (27.1, 1st), win shares (4.7, 2nd), and plus-minus (4.7, 3rd).
The 6-foot-6 Rigsby is the Sun Belt Conference reigning Rookie of the Year. Last season as a freshman with the Trojans, he averaged 11.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per game while shooting 44 percent from the floor, 41 percent from deep, and 82 percent from the free-throw line.
