Today, it is my pleasure to interview Spectacular Smith (@iamspectacular). Smith is known as one of the "Top Marketing Gurus To Watch" by Huffington Post, honored as the "Innovator Of The Year" by Black Enterprise, and named one of the "Greatest and Most Inspiring Entrepreneurs" by Inc Magazine. In 2018, Black Enterprise estimated his net worth at $65 million, making him one of the five most influential entrepreneurs at the intersection of music and tech.
Upon turning after-school candy sales into a $2,000/week business at age 11, Spectacular Smith discovered he was an entrepreneur. That realization would take him first to the heights of popular music, and then to success as a business owner, label owner, author, and beyond. Years later he created Grumpy Cat, the most famous animal on the planet. Smith was the mastermind behind the cat going viral and becoming one of the richest pets in history with a brand worth over $100 million from its merchandise.

He then turned those ideas into Adwizar, the dominant social media brand in urban music space. The company runs the Facebook pages of artists such as Bow Wow, Soulja Boy, Master P, Birdman and countless others. Adwizar has now grown beyond urban music into dealing with major brands and corporations, merchandising deals, and more. The social media company was listed as #262 of Inc. 5000’s Fastest-Growing Companies in America and was named Best Privately-Owned Company in America by Entrepreneur 360 two years in a row. The company was also featured in Forbes for its innovative methods and has no ceiling on its growth.
