30-year-old Kendale Charles Lumpkins is a Columbia, Mississippi native who has served
as a youth leader and minster at West Point Baptist Church in Hattiesburg, Mississippi since
He’s the “Barbershop Preacher,” who took the Internet by storm on January 29th, 2016
with his viral video that showed him sitting in a Mississippi barbershop ministering to a NFL
football player.
This Columbia, Mississippi native shared his testimony about his commitment to God
and his wife as well as the evolution from fighting temptation to fighting the good fight of faith.
The video has been shared, liked and viewed on social media sites more than ten million
times; not to mention the millions of comments.
Kendale wants to continue to spread his story of failure and triumph through his
upcoming book “Wrecked, but not Totaled,” expected to hit stores and online in May of 2016.
Kendale is a Safety and Environmental Advisor for Shell Oil Company.
He earned an associate degree in Occupational Health and Safety from Columbia
Southern University in Orange Beach, Alabama.
He is married with two children. He enjoys spending time with his family and
encouraging others.
