What to Make of the Maple Leafs Radio Silence? A Review of the Leafs' Off-Season So Far
Manage episode 433002475 series 2851580
It's been a fairly quiet off-season for the Maple Leafs so far. In taking a bit of a closer look though, Brad Treliving and Co., have done some tidy business in the back-ground. In this episode we review what the front office has accomplished so far, and what we expect is still on their to-do list.
We open the show with our Leaf Talk segment reviewing what the Leafs have accomplished to this point in the off-season, highlighting Development Camp, and some of the standout players. We then discuss the recent management changes, including the hiring of Mark Leach as the new Director of Amateur Scouting, and of course we also discuss the recent signing of Alex Nylander. in addition we discuss the uncertainty surrounding the unfinished business of the Jani Hakanpää free agent signing and still un-signed Nick Robertson, and potential impacts these have on the team. Of course, the conversation would not be complete without a mention of the ongoing Mitch Marner trade rumours.
Then we switch gears as we rate the summer shenanigans of a few of our Leafs with a fun Patio Season LTL Highlight Reel,
To wrap up the show, in the Third Period, we discuss some of the changes we will see on and off this ice for the up and coming 2024-25 NHL season. Suffice it to say, things are going to look quite different to start the season in a lot of NHL markers. One thing that is not changing, is that Joe Bowen and Jim Ralph will be back again to call the games in Toronto, which is great news and a no-brainer!
As we publish this show, only 67 days until opening night, which is exciting to think about and hopefully a good omen! Still a a month or so until crunch time, so we'll see what business Brad Treliving will complete before pre-season. In the meantime, we'll enjoy what time we have left on the Patio while we keep our ears open for any Leafs news. 'Til next time, Go Leafs Go! and Go Canada Go!
